HS ENTERPRISE LTD. was founded by Lt. Col. A.S. Helal Uddin psc (Retd) in 1981. Initially, it was a supplier of goods to defence. It also supplied HONDA motorcycles to various government and autonomous bodies. HS Enterprise Ltd. also made irrigation pumps and supplied them to Asian Development Bank Projects.

In 1983, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. offered HSEL the sale of HONDA motorcycles in built up condition. Gradually, Honda offered their portable Generators and Mini Trucks/Mini Vans. In 1987, HS Enterprise Ltd. (HSEL) was granted license for assembly of motorcycles. Since Honda could not offer their motorcycles to HSEL for assembly, HSEL turned to China as a source of motorcycles. Gradually HSEL became market leader of motorcycles. It also became the market leader of portable generators.

HSEL has its Motorcycle assembly line at Sreepur near Dhaka. It is the best assembly line for motorcycles in Bangladesh with Chassis welding, Engine assembling, Painting and testing facilities.

HSEL has developed an excellent network of retail outlets with motorcycles, spare parts and trained mechanics to provide good after-sales service for its products. HSEL owns over 64 showrooms all over the country in the name of EMMA Motors & WALID Motors.

HSEL moved into assembly of Mini Trucks/Mini Vans. since 1999. The plant is capable of assembly, paint and making bodies of 1500 vehicles annually. Its modern paint shop with heat treatment room is reputed to be the best in the country. This assembly line premises covers over ten acres of land, and has been established by technical assistance from Changan Automobile Co. Ltd., a major manufacturer of vehicles in China. Since 2001 HSEL has also begun assembly of light diesel trucks from YUEJIN Motor Co., China. HSEL started promoting CHERY CARS, TIEMA heavy TRUCKS and CNG BUSES since FALL 2005.

EMMA Motors, a sister concern of HSEL has been established in 1997 to expand primarily into the higher purchase sector of motorcycles, generators and home appliances. Currently, EMMA has 36 operating showrooms. EMMA is marketing motorcycles, refrigerators, television and air conditioners under its own brand name.

WALID Motors, another sister concern of HSEL has been established in 2002 to provide retail sale of Jialing motorcycles and other products. WALID Motors now has 37 showrooms with spareparts & service facilities.

Since 2003, HSEL has opened 4 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Stations with 6 conversion workshops. Natural gas being very economical, it is gaining popularity in Bangladesh. Every day our CNG Stations are providing alternative fuel to thousands of vehicles.

HSEL has converted hundreds of gasoline vehicles into CNG & LPG. Conversion of Diesel engines into dedicated CNG has been successful and commercial operation will start as soon as government approval is obtained.

HSEL group has a work force of over four hundred people. HS Enterprise Ltd. tries hard to contribute to society. It gives monthly pension to 250 destitute freedom fighters, donated 2 dialysis machines with water treatment plant to BIRDEM Hospital in order to treat patients suffering from kidney failure. HSEL opened up a school in Shunamgonj where 200 children can avail education. An education trust has also been set up with Deputy Commissioner in chair at Shunamgonj; where meritorious children are availing scholarships. HS Enterprise Ltd. believes that every single one of its customers is a part of this contribution to society.

The future of HSEL group is bright. While consolidating its position in the automotive and related market, it is looking forward to export in the near future.
