Description

The immediate goals were to establish Central Shariah Board for all Islamic Banks in Bangladesh, Islamic Money Market, Islamic Insurance Company(s), innovation of new financial products like BGIIB, embarking in investment through syndication etc. Among them Central Shariah Board is now functioning successfully. Also Bangladesh Government Islamic Investment Bond (BGIIB) has already been introduced by Bangladesh Bank benefit of which is being enjoyed by almost all the Member-Banks. The concept of common Islamic Credit Card is also under study. The problems and issues relating to the growth and development of Islamic Banking in Bangladesh are discussed and common strategy and policies are formulated for implementation through this common Forum.
